how to get that promotion at work

10 Dec

no secret formula here. in fact, the company sent us peons on a course to do just that.

and on company time too.

head pain jaw pain

attended the class with colleagues and some other people from other companies.

more after the jump.

didn't want to alarm anybody, so this pic was covertly taken ^^;

the course taught us how our bosses will appraise us and how we should gear/develop ourselves to fit into a the mould of a highly promotable employee.

wide open area where we had our tea break

so what if you don’t have considerate bosses like mine and don’t know what your boss’ idea of a good employee is? open your mouth and ask lah. this is especially important when doing your appraisal with your boss and setting goals for the next assessment year.

the noms for tea break. i was hungry. should have kapo-ed the leftovers...

if you just keep singing the same tune, “everything is ok”, “happy with everything”, and you continue doing what you do everyday, nothing will change. including your chances for promotion or that raise.

obvious cup label is obvious. no prizes for guessing correctly what's inside the cup.

work-wise, next year would be a challenging year for me as i will be handed new (and more?) responsibilities.

fortunately i love challenges. ;)
